 Fishing on Duck Lake

When you are thinking of quality time with your dad, fishing is always a can’t-miss activity   Duck Lake is located smack in the middle of town. The Lake is stocked regularly with Rainbow and Jumbo Rainbow Trout.   The City of Ocean Shores maintains and patrols two public boat launches. The first is at North Bay Park, near the center of town and the other at Chinook Park. Anglers can fish off the docks, embankments or launch their own vessels.  Both parks have ample parking, play areas, portable restrooms and are wheelchair accessible. Fishing licenses can be picked up in town at the Ace Hardware.  A one-day freshwater fishing license for residents is $15.69. No license required for 14 and under.

Go Golfing

Right across the street from The Polynesian Resort, you’ll find the Ocean Shores Golf Course, rightly deemed “challenging yet thoroughly fun to play.” Therefore, you should have a good time, regardless of your skill level. The front 9 holes weave through serene stands of lofty hemlock and spruce trees. The wider links-style back 9 holes will make you think you are in Scotland. For example, these links feature wide fairways, lined with beach grass and water.   Dad will love it.  Book your start time online.

Ride a Moped

Around town or on the beach, bombing along on Mopeds in Ocean Shores is a classic activity.  Rent them and head out to explore the town. From Affordable Mopeds.

Go Karting

He probably taught you to drive and still thinks he can teach you a thing or two.  See who laps who these days at Playtime Family Fun.  After that, you can check out other arcade style fun there and at the Pacific Paradise Family Fun Center

Take a bike ride

At this point, dad will probably be glad to know that Ocean Shores is mostly flat.  Easy for him to peddle therefore he’ll be able to share cycling stories from his youth.  Ask him about his first two-wheeler.  Bring your own bikes to the beach or rent them.

Soak in Pool & Spa

This refreshing heated pool and spa at The Polynesian Resort will lull dad to relax. Wind down with him and hear about the guy he was before you came along.

Pose for a great photo

Pick a special spot and create an image you’ll cherish for years to come.   For instance, pose for a photo on the beach at sunset, on a forest trail or near the jetty. Make a memory with dad.
