pile of clams in Ocean Shores

The Washington Dept. of Fish & Wildlife has released additional tentative clam digging dates to its current calendar and regulations.

Note: Now that spring has arrived,  anyone digging razor clams beginning April 1 will need a new license.

Copalis Beach in Ocean Shores is one of five harvest areas managed by the WDF&W. That makes Ocean Shores a hub for the sought-after razor clam.   The Copalis Beach clamming area runs from the North Jetty to the mouth of the Copalis River, (with one small exception of a clam reserve just south of Ocean City).  Razor clams exist primarily on the intertidal coastal beaches from a +3 foot level to a -2 foot tide level.
